He was asked why Snagit 2.4.1 works flawlessly with this latest build but their new 13 does not.
Jason L acknowledged that 13 does not work with windows 10 pre releases and took no responsibility for their inadequate testing with these new releases.
No remedies offered and they closed my ticket without remedy.
Just curious as to why anyone would still be using a pre-release version of Windows 10? Pre-release builds are a moving target and hard to keep up with. I suspect most companies adhere to the final release spec of the OS; the commercial version has been available for months now.
Windows 10 build 14915.rs_prerelease.160826-1902. will never be improved or repaired by Microsoft.
It would be pointless for TechSmith to engineer SnagIt 13 to run correctly on an abandoned and antiquated version of Windows 10.
Plus , I wouldn't be surprised if that operating system creates problems for other software programs as well.
Heck, your system may even be unsecured and vulnerable to hacking as well.
If you are unwilling to update to a more viable version of Windows 10. I don't see how anybody will be able to help you.
Just wanted to follow up on this conversation as far as operating system pre-release builds and previews are concerned (like the Insider Preview). We do perform internal testing on beta and preview builds of Windows and Mac OS X, however TechSmith products are not supported on these preview and beta builds. With that in mind, we do still value your feedback if you are running into an issue on a beta or preview OS! While we may not have a fix for the problem, it is still helpful for us to hear from you.
As always we appreciate your feedback and remember that those of you that are experiencing technical issues with TechSmith products are urged to open a support ticket at https://support.techsmith.com/ so our dedicated team of Support Specialists can assist you.
