Snagit 13 does not work with windows 10 build 14915.rs_prerelease.160826-1902

Found that Snagit 13 does not work with windows 10 build 14915.rs_prerelease.160826-1902.  Editor will not load.  Techsmith offered no remedies after extended remedy attempts by Jason L
He was asked why Snagit 2.4.1 works flawlessly with this latest build but their new 13 does not.
Jason L acknowledged that 13 does not work with windows 10 pre releases and took no responsibility for their inadequate testing with these new releases.
No remedies offered and they closed my ticket without remedy.

Hello,

Just curious as to why anyone would still be using a pre-release version of Windows 10? Pre-release builds are a moving target and hard to keep up with. I suspect most companies adhere to the final release spec of the OS; the commercial version has been available for months now.

Betas will break and the way Micro$oft has released Windows 10, you are actually doing ALPHA testing i.e new features and concepts.
I took myself off the slow track as the updates were BREAKING Windows 10

For starters,
Windows 10 build 14915.rs_prerelease.160826-1902. will never be improved or repaired by Microsoft.

It would be pointless for TechSmith to engineer SnagIt 13  to run correctly on an abandoned and antiquated version of Windows 10.

Plus , I wouldn't be surprised if that operating system creates problems for other software programs as well.
Heck, your system may even be unsecured and vulnerable to hacking as well.

If you are unwilling to update to a more viable version of Windows 10. I don't see how anybody will be able to help you.

Regards,Joe

Get the latest Image from Microsoft and do a fresh install
Not being smug, rather  -  been there, done that and have the Tee shirt. Then stay out of the fast ring and preferably the SLOW ring. They are breaking things and are unwilling to fix the problems

Thanks everyone for the constructive information,  I am not up-to-date on the latest information on windows 10 and just dutifully updated the pre-releases.  I believe in order to obtain a pro version, We must pay $199 is that correct?

I don't know your circumstances or needs, I'd think you'd be entitled to a commercial release of Windows 10 Home Premium (network up to 5 PCs) for free if that's what you started with. If you started with Windows 10 Professional, same thing; you should get a final commercial version. If it is WIN 10 Home, then the upgrade price appears to be $99 depending on where you look. Do you actually need WIN 10 Professional to support networking 10 computers and domains?

There are resellers at http://goo.gl/UJlmPO the lowest price for pro is $10. I bought from this guey http://tiny.cc/bifoey It took a week to get them but they work
Before anyone gets aghast and starts crying the victim song,at the possibility of "piracy" check on how these people do it - they buy blocks of them from legitimate MS dealers, break them down and sell the pieces. This does not RULE OUT someone generating keys

Having the same uncertainty of others when Micro$oft gives anything "free" I bought 2 PRO keys for our computers. I have had to use one of them and no problems with installing or activating

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to follow up on this conversation as far as operating system pre-release builds and previews are concerned (like the Insider Preview).  We do perform internal testing on beta and preview builds of Windows and Mac OS X, however TechSmith products are not supported on these preview and beta builds. With that in mind, we do still value your feedback if you are running into an issue on a beta or preview OS!  While we may not have a fix for the problem, it is still helpful for us to hear from you.

As always we appreciate your feedback and remember that those of you that are experiencing technical issues with TechSmith products are urged to open a support ticket at https://support.techsmith.com/ so our dedicated team of Support Specialists can assist you.

Version 13.0.2 works with the latest release 14926 again for Windows 10.  If you are in the Insider Program update to this release and then SnagIt will work again.
