I use Snagit everyday and version 13 makes it harder to apply edges.  I want to select which side of the snip gets an edge and I want to select the depth of an edge.

See if the video linked below helps you solve it.

Great video, Rick...really clear instructions! Greg, one thing not shown in the video is how to get the edge effect button in your toolbar (it's not in the default set of buttons); here's a tutorial on how to customize the toolbar in Snagit 13.

OK - I will look at the video, but it is extremely irritating that I, as a longterm user of Snagit, have to review a tutorial after an upgrade. I sure hope the advantages of the new version become apparent soon, because right now it is just making me less productive.  Applying edge effects is something I do to practically every screen shot I share. So extra keystrokes or mouse clicks to accomplish the same thing I have been doing daily........

Yes it is a good video, and it works well in your video. I was doing much of what you were doing in your video already, but I wasn't getting consistent results.  For instance, when I change edge settings, I expect them to replace whatever edge settings were there before and that doesn't seem to be happening.  In one case I had a screen shot with a mix of edge depth (size in the 13 menu). So even after your video, my experience is still poor.
