Snagit 13 - How to set background color?

How do I quickly set the background color (within a screen capture) using version 13? Note, I'm not referring to the canvas color outside the actual screen capture.

In version 12, if I deleted an area within the screen capture, it showed the hatched transparency fill. By simply selecting Fill and any color, that hatched area would automatically change to the newly selected color. This does not work the same way in version 13 and I am struggling with the functionality.

Grrrrrrr...

Hi there

Try clicking Image > Canvas Color.

Cheers... Rick :)

Thanks Rick! That did the trick, although not sure why it is no longer found in the Fill menu.

That's great, but how do you fill in a text box? When I create a box and type in text, I can no longer right click and find the fill button to create a background for the text.  Thank you.

I think it depends on the object you are using for the text container. For example, if you clicked just the Text tool as shown below, you don't have options for the background.

If you are using the Callout tool, you adjust the background fill and other properties over on the right in that properties panel.

Cheers... Rick :)

Likely part of the reason for some of the change with the tools is the nifty new feature that allow us to outline the text.

Just my own thoughts on it though... Rick :)

My selection is blue and I don't know how to remove the blue.
