SnagIt 13 on Windows - Impossible to configure a custom automatic filename for SnagIt Editor

I use SnagIt 13 on Windows.
I only use the standard image capture settings (no specific presets).
When I capture an image, it opens the captured image in SnagIt Editor, then when I want to save the file, it automatically proposes to save it using this file naming format :
2016-11-24_19-09-28.jpg

I would like to change this automatic naming with my own file naming template.

In the presets, we have such a thing, which allows to give a specific filename :
<Year4>-<MonthNum>-<DayNum> <Hour24>h<Minute>m<Second>
... But I don't want to use Presets, nor the Share button (which implies more clicks) !
I just want to press the PrintScreen key and capture my screen.
I wanted to workaround this issue using a specific preset, but I did not succeed in configuring a preset using the PrintScreen Hotkey...

This feature is really lacking in this software.

Regretfully TechSmith doesn't seem to have listened (they even didn't care to respond) as this feature is still missing in v13.1

I am also using this feature in good old v11: almost all captures are saved as:
SnagIt-<DayNum><MonthNum><Year4> <Hour24><Minute><Second>

This way each capture is unique.

Later: I discovered it . . .

1. click on the 'gear' left bottom (left from the word 'Presets')
2. the list will show
3. go over the a preset and click on the gear at the right, there will be a small drop down menu with 'Edit, Rename, Duplicate, Delete, Export'
4. select Edit
5. click on the gear right of 'File'
6. click on Automatic naming settings

Mike62, you detail exactly what I have already described. It doesn't give a solution to the issue.
Automatic naming is configurable on a per preset basis, but can't be configured on a global basis. Preset can't be called by PrintScreen hotkey, or the red capture button.
Presets implies more clicks.

Since a recent minor update, Snagit 13 Editor's own Save dialog (so not the one triggered by presets) no longer appends a unique time stamp to a filename. This results in identical filenames being generated. E.g. for today, the filename generated would be 2017-02-19__.png, where this used to be something unique like 2017-02-19_7-14-7.png. For the life of me I cannot find where to customize this behavior. I'm now finding myself having to manually edit the filename for each image to prevent it from overwriting an image I saved earlier that same day. Are you experiencing this also?

Hi,
No, the SnagIt Editor Save Dialog correctly proposes me a fully timestamped filename, e.g. 2017-02-17_14-06-29.jpg in the last SnagIt version 13.1.0 build 7494.

Thank you, Syldub. I'm using the exact same build. Apparently I have unwillingly managed to change the behavior. Puzzling.
