Call support on Monday as it may take an uninstall of Snagit and that is difficult as the uninstaller does not work correctly. That is from experience with tech support who did a great job but it took quite a while to get it uninstalled

You can Submit a ticket

Or call, >>>

For myself, I had to reinstall SnagIt and add exceptions to McAfee security to eliminate similar errors from occurring.

Here's an excerpt from a TechSmith support letter,

What you can try is reinstalling Snagit again, and adding these files to the exception list in McAfee.

- Open McAfee and select the PC Security tab
- Select Real-Time Scanning on the left
- Click Excluded Files
- Click Add file.  Add these 4 files:

- C:\Program Files\TechSmith\Snagit 2018\opencv_core300.dll
- C:\Program Files\TechSmith\Snagit 2018\opencv_core310.dll
- C:\Program Files\TechSmith\Snagit 2018\opencv_imgproc300.dll
- C:\Program Files\TechSmith\Snagit 2018\opencv_imgproc310.dll
- C:\Program Files\TechSmith\Snagit 2018\opencv_photo310.dll

It worked for me.

Regards,Joe

I reinstalled SnagIt 2018 several times. This action has fixed it ever since.  Roughly, 3 weeks ago now.

Same problem and have uninstalled and reinstalled a number of times. Fed up and have submitted a ticket. Wishing I hadn't upgraded now!

Are you using McAfee?

Have you tried adding that dll to your virus protection software's exception list?

After reading many comments I came to conclusion that product is not mature enough and it may be safer to use other products for screen recording. I tested Screen Hunter 7 and it appears to be doing the job just fine on my Windows 10. Why spend time waiting or hours for tech support to respond. I noticed that my message was not answered for at least few hours, which indicates there may be more issues with software than not recording screen videos.
