Snagit 2018.2.1 - Save to pdf with transparent background

I've tested, poked, prodded and most of you know I push it to breaking when testing something.

Is it even possible to "Save As" to pdf with a transparent background in Snagit?

Maybe my installation has a bug?

Any image I save to pdf has a white background.

If you are trying to create scalable stamps you may have to save as PNG and use an outside source to bring them into a PDF. I just did it and maintained transparency using Nitro pro. There is nothing in the Save as (PDF) options to allow for transparency nor color depth
Nitro has a neat feature that allows me to extract all the images from a PDF. I believe their free reader has that too (Which made it hand for testing the transparency as even in Nitro, the transparent background shows white )

Thanks for the reply Rick.

I'm aware of creating pdf's outside of Snagit with transparency. I usually do it through Photoshop and as with most programs that can do it the output needs to be configured to do so.

I ask if it's possible to have the transparency to pdf from Snagit though to

1. Eliminate the extra step(s).
2. If it is a possible bug because there is a setting in "Save As Preferences" under pdf options but it makes no difference.

So was wondering if I was missing another setting or something.

I've tried doing this in the past without success.

I don't believe SnagIt has ever exported to PDF with transparency. I tried to force it to do so today without any luck.

I even installed SnagIt 10 and gave it a Try. No luck.I would have installed a newer version. But the installation files tend to install themselves in the SnagIt 2018 install folder and screw everything up.
Plus, it was good to look back that far into the history of PDF's and SnagIt.
As soon as I switched to save as a PDF. The "Save with transparency" check box "Gray's Out" and the preview window loses the transparency grid.
Typical PNG Save shown here.

Thanks Joe,
I tried every conceivable way I could think of to make it happen and it was a no go.
You would think that there is a option to set pdf to use true color + transparency it would work but as I've come to expect, half-baked,  half thought of options are what you get with Techsmith.

I say that in a nice but truthful way as I like using their products.Just wish they would put more thought into the implementation of the options and make them actually useful.
This post as a example being one of them.

The only options I can get to are for page set up. Regardless of how I save the image. Or where I look for a menu to change PDF options.I can try to change options in SnagIt Capture. File save in SnagIt capture.Nothing.
I'm running version 2018.1.1Windows 10.I've had time to think about this.I'm almost positive it was SnagIt 12 that I was trying so hard to export with transparency. If not, SnagIt 13 would have just been released. But this was a long time ago.So Odds are,12.

But here's the thing. As far as SnagIt's concerned. It created a Transparent PNG when you look at the Thumbnail in the recent captures tray.
I can even drag it to another image on the Canvas. So maybe it is a bug???
