Snagit 2018 can't connect to update server?

Snagit 2018 can't connect to update server--says it's on a "read-only" volume, and it is in the application folder on my hard drive.  Need help!

Sorry about this! There's a new security feature in macOS High Sierra that can cause this to happen sometimes. I would recommend downloading the latest update from our website and replacing your existing version with it. Hopefully things go smoother after that.
