SnagIt 2018 Editor Closing Automatically

I upgraded to SnagIt 2018 recently and find that the Editor won't accept any edit commands and closes automatically after approximately six seconds. I've used SnagIt for nearly 10 years and never had this before. I did have SnagIt13 installed as well, so uninstalled all versions, re-downloaded 2018 and entered the key. Still the same problem.
I'm running Windows 10 on a relatively high spec PC...help!!

similar.   The snaggit editor just closes.  It's so frustrating.  It makes the program useless.

Disappointed that we’ve still not had a Techsmith response to this, and it’s still happening. Techsmith please help!

Yes, I have this problem as well. Snagit library will work and displays all the old images but the editor does not open for more than six seconds. Sometimes it opens with a just a black border. 

Techsmith support should be all over this.

This issue was rapidly resolved by TechSmith Support folks. I was remiss, not posting about that. The support link provided by Rick is essential for this sort of report. The tech support team are always very responsive I have found and keen to hear about issues, possible enhancements and general comments.

Have any of you actually contacted TechSmith Support on this issue? If not, I would strongly encourage you to do so. 

TechSmith folks do regularly pop into these forums to assist, but for things like this it often requires one of their support staff to work with you more closely.

Contacting Support is easy. From either the SnagIt Capture window or the Editor, click Help > Technical Support

++ My Solution for SnagIt 12.2.2 ++
SnagIt 12.2.2 was de-installed and the upgrade of SnagIt 2019 is installed.
The new version of SnagIt works "again" on Windows 10 (Build 1809).

++ My Suspicion ++
The last update of WINDOWS 10 (before 2019-Jan-29) was originally the trigger for the problem.

++ Original Problem ++
"Window of SnagIt's editor was opened and suddenly it closed after 2-5 seconds automatically.
And a black border was visible around SnagIt's window for a short time.
SnagIt 12.2.2 was deinstalled and re-installed once more. Same behaviour. No changes. 
Microsoft's update can be the problem too. The problem was not there before Microsoft's update."

Looking thru the setting in Snagit 2019, i saw a setting in "Snagit Capture Preferences", in the "Capture" tab, labeled "Hide Snagit when capturing".  I cleared it, and sure enough, it left ALL snagit windows open - the OneClick tab, the Snagit Capture window and the Editor window.  I  normally use a hot key to trigger a capture, so had no need for the first two windows.  I closed them, tried a capture with the hot key, and the Editor STAYED OPEN !!
