I've installed SnagIt 2018 and find that the Editor window won't open. SnagIt captures to clipboard okay, but the Editor won't open.

Check what Albert said but on the chance that you meant the editor will not open at all no matter what ...
Shut Snagit down totally from the system tray icon or better yet task manager, Go into the program folder  and find the editor which on my machine is ""C:\Program Files\TechSmith\Snagit 2018\SnagitEditor.exe""
Right click it and Run it as administrator. Try it a couple of times if need be. IF it opens then you are probably goiod to go and it will open normally. I have had a couple of programs where they will not load and that is the fix.
If you still have trouble and the editor will not open You can Submit a ticket

Fixed it - had to uninstall and delete all prior vestiges, files, license codes, folders, everywhere that had anything to do with Techsmith / Camtasia / SnagIt -- and unticked all boxes in the install panel for app add-ins. Then it wold install. Maybe one of the add-ins was causing mischief. Tx for response.

I appeared to have the same problem -  I couldn't figure it out at first - Tried 'Everything'  - and then,  I turned on my second monitor - and Viola !  - There was Snagit 2018 Editor   opened and waiting!
Thought I was losing my mind!     It was tossing to the second monitor, even if the monitor isn't open!.. (Graphic Card snafu)...

Thanks so much for sharing this "tid-bit" as this was exactly what was happening (except I don't have the monitor with me on my laptop)

Should this happen to anyone else, there is a key sequence that may be tried. If you press Alt+Spacebar, followed by M (for Move) followed by any of the four arrow keys, then wiggle the mouse a tiny bit and if the window is off screen, it should now pop into the visible area.

Posting this here in the event others search the forums looking for a solution.

Note that this is a Windows specific solution.

Cheers... Rick :)

The Editor wouldn't start on Windows 10.
In Event Viewer> Windows Logs: Application, I saw an error: Faulting module name: ISD_Tablet.dll.
I disabled the Wacom ISD Service in Services and the Editor started.
