SnagIt 2018, I can no longer detach surface book screen

Since upgrading from 13.1 to 2018, I can no longer detach my surface book screen.
I presume that it is something to do with a file path pointing at the SD card (which is in the keyboard part and not the screen) but I cannot find it anywhere in the preferences.

That would be great. I am using the work-around that you provided previously and it is working but it would be nice to be able to re-enable the editor to run in the background for performance reasons.

Besides the undocking the screen on my Surface Book the screen flickers as well. When I exit Snagit in the Tray it all stops. The flickering and I can detach again.

If you have Snagit set to start on boot, just the Snagit service loads, not Snagit Editor.  Once you do a capture, Snagit Editor is loaded into memory and stays there.  It is Snagit Editor that prevents the detach function.  I have always assumed it was a screen overlay issue (I have that little docked capture thing on the side of my screen).  I did experiment with killing Snagit Editor via the task manager.  The moment Snagit Editor closes, the detach icon is restored.  I don't detach my screen often, so it is a minor inconvenience.  But it started with the 2018 version and it did it on my surface book 1 and now the surface book 2, which I have only been using for about 2 weeks.  Both are running Fall Creator Update, so maybe it is an win issue.
