Snagit 2018 keeps Jabra Evolve 75 headset in some mode that degrades sound quality

I'm using Snagit 2018 with Windows 10.
I have as my main headset a Jabra Evolve 75 connected to the PC through a Jabra 370 Bluetooth dongle.

When I open Snagit 2018, without doing any kind of capture, it seems to force my headset to enter into some kind of communication mode (maybe for sound capture) that highly degrades sound quality.

What this means is: I can't listen to music or any media with optimal sound quality while Snagit is open, even if idle. I need to close (right click on tray -> Exit Techsmith Snagit) to go back into good audio quality.

The same issue does not happen when the headset is connected through a USB cable instead of bluetooth. I did not test by connecting with Bluetooth without the Jabra 370 dongle.

So I'm going to take a shot in the dark here. You said you're using a PC. This is an unrelated issue as it applies to laptops. That being said.
SnagIt 2018 had an issue where every time it started it fired up the WebCam on people's laptops. They had no control over this and they couldn't shut it off.

My thought/guess. Is perhaps when you're firing up SnagIt. A leftover of the same bug is activating your microphone.
If you go into capture preferences. You could try disabling the WebCam and see if that changes anything.

This is a solution that works for some people but not all.

There's actually a support article on that particular problem.https://support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us/articles/360005540571

But since this is just a guess on my part. You probably shouldn't be jumping through too many hoops chasing my guess work.

I participate in these forums a lot. This is the first time I've seen a problem like yours reported. Which leads me to believe that your odds of finding a solution in this forum are probably not great. I could be wrong, someone might post a solution five minutes from now.
If I were you I would submit a ticket with tech support right now.

So, I opened a ticket (to my company's IT first), they suggested me to update to Snagit 2019 and retry.
It solved the issue, but for the sake of information, there is still something slightly weird happening: When I open Snagit it still changes briefly into this low quality mode, but it quickly goes back into the normal mode afterwards.
