SnagIt 2018 Windows capture to both clipboard and editor without opening editor

In previous versions you could set up a capture profile that would both capture to the clipboard and to the editor BUT not open the editor.  in the update to 2018 I had to rebuild the capture profiles and can not seem to rebuild one that does the same thing.

Has anyone found the key to it?  I was hoping you could set a share to SnagIt Editor but that is not an option.

I am hoping it is not another miss or a change that is no longer supported.

Found a help that says you can but does not work in 2018:  https://feedback.techsmith.com/techsmith/topics/feature_request-6zspz

Thanks.

It does work. Set it the way you want then save it as a new preset. Rename and add a hot key as you wish
THe saving as a new preset is not intuitive (You can save over the top of the one you are using)

That will do it.  What might catch you out though, and make you think that it is opening the editor, is that every capture is saved to the recent captures and, IF THE EDITOR IS ALREADY OPEN it will display it.  That's caught me out a few times.

Yes, save a profile something like this.

But make sure Editor is set up so that the Library saves the capture in Preferences.

Or it won't show up in the Editor or the Library.EVER.

Figured this out.  It is a setting in the editor, from the toolbar Edit > Editor Preferences > Advanced > make sure Always keep Editor running in the background.  The capture key is set up to NOT preview in the editor and to copy to clipboard.  Also have the Library set up as Joe specified.

By doing this it 'stores' all captures and you do not need to go to the editor every time, you can just paste from the Windows Clipboard.

Would like to know how Joe captures SnagIt screens, they all go away from the screen when I try it.  :)
