SnagiT 2019 and capturing windows

SnagiT 2019 doesn't work reliably with multiple windows on the screen.  In Window mode, sometimes it captures the Window the cursor is over but often times it just captures the full screen.  So I waste a lot of time having to use the Region Mode to capture a simple window from the screen.  It seems that the only two modes that work reliably are Region and Full Screen.  I am using Win 10, latest upgrade.  Really annoying that SnagiT, being an old software, doesn't operate as intended.  Guys/Gals FixiT .

Art - I have two systems, #1 has 3 ea 1920 x 1200 HD+ monitors, #2 has 2 ea UHD monitors but both are set at 2560 x 1440 resolution. Both run Snagit w/o even a hint of a problem.
So my suggestion to you is - make sure both your monitors are set to the same resolution. Different sizes is only a visual problem, but poor planning on your part is not a TS problem.

Well that’s a poor answer on your part. It’s not poor planning on my part. Get real Man. SnagiT has a problem and Techsmith can’t/won’t admit it.

But thanks for that answer. Won’t need to ever upgrade again.

BTW. I write Professional software for Aerosoace companies and never blame them if they have problems. I always fix their issue.

Don't be so smug.  That's a typo.  If you try hard you might figure it out

Oh! I figured it out but if you produce typos in your software code...

It sounds like a bug - the staff do glance over these community forums every so often but it isn't really the most efficient way to engage support.  If you're interested in raising a ticket you could do so via their support website.  Otherwise I can't add much to the discussion I'm afraid - I tend to use the region capture.

Hi Art;

Snagit should definitely work on multimonitor systems (I myself use multiple monitors) so there is definitely something amiss here. Your best bet will to be to open a technical support ticket, which you can do at this link, and work with them to determine the issue. Feel free to post results here so others might know what is going on.

Thanks!

Hi Robert, the odd behavior is that it works at times, just as it should.  But then at other times, its only the region capture (always works) or the full screen that works. I'll try to gather some data to help tech support figure it out.  Art
