Snagit 2019 Beachball freezes after taking screenshot of google chrome

After taking a screenshot of google chrome browser and clicking the camera icon, it freezes and shows the beachball loading cursor. Most of the time I can press the keyboard combo to force quit and it breaks the freezing and shows the screenshot in snagit (Without force quitting). Sometimes it just hangs for about 60 seconds and snagit just goes away from display (not capturing screenshot).

Hi there. Are you on macOS 10.14 Mojave? Also, are you seeing this only when capturing Chrome, that is can you give a try with a different application in front?

I'm getting this issue repeatedly with Snagit 2019.1.0 (94020) and Chrome 71.0.3578.98 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Mojave 10.14.2. I get a 1-2 second beachball with Firefox and Safari, but chrome is like a minute. Other apps are just a slight pause, no beachball.

Any suggestions?

According to TechSmith support, this can occur if SnagIt 2019 doesn't have permissions for microphone, camera, accessibility, and automation in Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy tab.

I followed the instructions in @dale's post above; on my macOS Mojave 10.14.2 the automation > Snagit 2019 > Google Chrome option was not checked. Checking it fixed the issue.
