SnagIt 2020 installed - can I safely uninstall 2019 without losing settings?

I have been using v2020 for a while now.
It does use the 2019 library and things are pretty much the same in SnagItEditor as with 2019.

I wonder whether and how I can uninstall 2019  without  losing or messing up my settings.
(library, themes, stamps, whatever)

Probably it should work, but just asking before proceeding...

Thanks.

If 2020 is doing everything you want it to do.

If you're not using 2019 for any reason whatsoever.Theres probably no reason to keep it installed.
I keep older versions installed so I can answer questions regarding them at times.

While uninstalling, you will get a prompt asking if you want to keep your files. It's selected by default.
You'll want to keep your files.
Several versions of SnagIt share the same datastore file/location. So if you delete your files, you can delete the library files of other versions.
That's all you have to concern yourself with. 2019 will uninstall harmlessly.

Fun fact, If you open the 2019 editor. The same image will be loaded on the canvas. And, the  recent captures tray will contain the same image as 2020. Provided you don't have SnagIt set to clear the tray when closing.

If you load a new image into 2019 add some annotations and Close it while saving changes. The same image will appear in 2020 with callouts.
This occurs in any version sharing the same datastore file location. If you were to open SnagIt 12, same story.
So, thats why saving files is important.

Joe, as always - many thanks !

I went uninstalling and everything seemed to be fine.

Upon starting the editor, it also seemed to be fine, until going into the library: all previous months were there and I went to collapse them one by one (they were showing all days).
At one point SnagItEditor stopped responding. After a while I closed SnagIt, relaunched it, went on to collapse all months again.
At the same month, again a 'hang' - I then decided to just "Wait for the program to respond".
It did after a while.
There were many screenshots in that month and I noticed that many 'hourglass' thumbnails to change into the real thumbnail (images) one by one.
This most probably has been the cause of the non responding.

Anyway, it is solved now.

Again, thanks a lot!
