Hi there Snagit Users!

Now that Snagit 2019 has been out for a few weeks we wanted to do something a little new and different here in the forums. We wanted to revisit the Themes feature released in Snagit 13.1 (Feb 2017), which helps content teams keep their markup on brand...but also can be used to fuel the creativity of individual creators. Originally released in Snagit 13.1.0, the Theme function was put in place to help make it easier to ensure color standards remained the same within organizations or across multiple systems.

What we would like to do is see some of themes that you use within your organization or throughout your personal systems! In fact, we are so curious to know what you are using that the Theme with the most +1’s will receive a bit of prize! What to do if you have yet to make a theme? No worries! You can get creative, make one, and enter it in this contest for a chance to win! What is the prize you ask? We have a pretty awesome Snagit-branded blanket, a Camtasia/Snagit software bundle, and as an added bit, we will evaluate the Themes for possible inclusion in a future version of Snagit!

Now there are a few rules for the contest:

  • You can submit up to three themes
  • Keep it fun
  • Keep it professional
  • Keep it respectful
  • Commercially licensed fonts are not allowed
  • Google Fonts are allowed
  • Be running Snagit 13.1.0 (Win) / Snagit 4.1.0 (Mac) or later

So how does the contest work? Super simple:

  1. Create your Theme! (Not sure how? This guide walks you through the process...)
  2. Pro tip: color palette sites like this and this are helpful for finding complementary combinations.
  3. Sample your theme on a new/blank image in Snagit Editor
  4. Save the Sample Image as a PNG
  5. Reply to this post and upload the Sample Image

Great! You have shared a sample image of your theme, with its Name and various colors/fonts/etc. but how do you get and give +1’s? Super simple; all you need to do is click the “Like” link next to the Theme that you like the most! At the end of the contest (December 09, 2018 at 12:00 EST). The Replies with the most Likes will be announced in this thread then I will reach out to them directly.

Thanks all and good luck!
