Previously, I could select part of a captured image and copy it. Now all I get is an arrow or whatever. Why can't I do what I used to do so easily?

Hi Perry - good news: you can still select and copy part of a capture in Snagit 13; here are instructions that show how. If you do a lot of selecting and copying, you can customize the Snagit toolbar to keep that tool handy. And Ctrl+1 through Ctrl+0 are handy for switching between tools if you don't want to click.

Hope that helps!

The Selection tool is what I used previously, but I can't find it in Snagit 13.

Ah, understood. If it's not visible in your toolbar, click the "More" button at the end of the toolbar and you'll see it there.

You can also use the link above to see how to customize the toolbar and put Selection and all the tools right where you want them.

I can't see a More button either. Here's the screen I see.

Aah! I'll make an appointment with an optometrist for this afternoon.

Thanks for your help.

Can I make the selection tool be the default tool instead of the arrow? I almost never use the arrow but I do select areas to modify them quite a bit. In the older versions, the selection tool was the default.

Unfortunately, the arrow is the default tool. It's pretty irritating to me. I hope they do something about this through an update.
