Snagit file saving requires Internet connection?

Yesterday I was recording a Snagit video, and when I completed it I noticed a message that flashed on the screen and then went away, saying there was no Internet connection. And the file was not saved.

This happened quickly, and surprised me. What about Snagit recording video would require Internet connectivity? (And in fact at that moment my laptop had no Internet connection -- the closest Wi-Fi was through a couple of walls.)

Has anyone else encountered this? Do we need an Internet connection in order to save video files with Snagit?

Hello,

No SnagIt video doesn't require internet connection, I've no explanation for that. One of the other experts may be able to tell you which directory (folder) the capture file might be sitting in.

Videos are saved to the Library in the Editor . See image Below, Click to Enlarge.

Just click on the Library tab and select Videos from the main menu.

Regards, Joe

Captures are also saved in your documents folder by default. Provided that you did not change the default location in the past. See Image

Snagit does not require an internet connection in order to save a video recording.

What capture profile are you using? Any chance you are using one which tries to send the video directly to Screencast.com, Google Drive, or Twitter or some other online location? That might cause that warning. Did the warning appear by the taskbar?
