Hi there,

There is no pause button, or key combination, that will pause a screen recording in the Snagit for Google Chrome extension. As you have no doubt realized, the way to stop the recording is by the Chrome "Stop Sharing" button.

I'm sorry that you spent time trying to get that to work.

Hi Josh - I'm wondering if any updates have been made to Snagit that allow a Pause button? I'm trying to record my voice over a Google Slides presentation and when I make a mistake, do I just have to click "Stop" and then start a new video?

Sorry Hannah, but no. A pause button has not been added to the Snagit for Chrome extension.

If you're on a Chromebook, have you looked at the YouTube Creator Studio? I believe it has a way to string several clips together into one video. If that works, you could try recording only one slide of your Google Presentations at a time.

If you're on a Windows or Mac machine, you might want to explore more powerful screencasting software. Both Snagit and Camtasia have free trials, the ability to pause recordings, and many other advanced features.

In the meantime, I'll change this post to a Snagit for Chrome feature request, so that others might see it and add their support.

-Josh
