SnagIt is a must have for business analysts!

Just want to comment on how useful SnagIt has been to me in my work as a Business Analyst!  It is ideal for any tasks that are related to a screen image and save so much time when having to do screen shots as part of an As Is / To Be Project.   The Spotlight and Magnify feature is also useful for pointing out a particular area or field on a screen. As a BA, having the right tools at your disposal makes it easier to keep both the details and the big picture in sight!

Susan, how long have you using SnagIt? Techsmith actually took out a lot of useful features like text capture, etc. Glad it is working out for you.

Hi Cyrus,
When you say we have taken out "a lot of useful features", other than text capture, what are you missing?
Did you actually use text capture? If so, maybe tell us why that was an important part of your workflow.

Just because I find it useful, doesn't mean I think everything about it is perfect (for example, the dark background)! Our developers especially miss the Text Capture feauture, but I think some of them work around it by keeping an older version of SnagIt installed separately and using it when they need that functionality. But I do get a lot of value from SnagIt overall.  

Sometimes SnagIt gets more comments about the features it removes than the ones it adds!  A lesson in product management, I suppose!

Hi Susan,

Do you know you can change the color scheme? I prefer to use the light gray UI. You can make the change in the Editor Options dialog box:

Thanks for the Praise report!

I was actually a Process Improvement Manager for a couple of the "Big 3" Detroit auto companies doing a lot of As Is-To Be mapping myself so I can understand how helpful Snagit is in that line of work!
