Snagit Library Missing

I have the newest version of SnagIT for the mac, and cannot find my library.  I know I have at least 100 snapshot and a dozen or more videos.
  • They are all missing ?  
  • Where are they ? 
  • And why is it so difficult to find them ?

Hello Herb;

Have you had a previous version of Snagit for Mac installed on the computer? Is the version of Snagit that you have currently installed from the App Store, or is it downloaded from our store directly?

Hi Robert,

I update Snagit when there is new version - that's it.  How does you questions relate to my missing library of images and videos ? - Please clarify !!

I am running 4.1.5 for the Mac

Also - I use to see parts of the library at the bottom of Snagit; and this does not display.

Please, just tell me, explain, where the library is stored and how to access it !!  I hope is it is not lost.

How do I back up SnagIt and all the images and video - etc ????

Hi Herb;

The reason I ask is because the App Store version has a different library location (due to App Store restrictions) than the TechSmith standalone version of the Library. The TechSmith Standalone captures to the Documents\Snagit\Auto-saved Captures folder. The other saves to the Pictures\Snagit\Auto-saved Captures folder. Open your version of Snagit and go to the Preferences then Advanced pane to check where yours is currently storing the captures, then check the other location (mentioned above).
