SnagIT Mac 2020 Lost My Favorites

I just upgraded from SnagIT Mac 2019 to 2020, and when I open 2020 it does NOT show any of my Favorites from 2019.  If I close 2020 and open 2019, then the Favorites are there.

How do I get my 2019 Favorites into 2020?

FWIW, I have an active Maintenance agreement.

Hi,

So sorry about this! if you open up Finder and go to ~/Library/Group Containers/7TQL462TU8.com.techsmith.snagit, then in Snagit 2019 look for the file called FavoriteStyles. Copy this file and paste it into the 2020 folder, replacing the existing one.

Thanks, Luke.  That seems to work.  I hope TechSmith will revise their install process to copy all settings from the prior version to the new version when doing a major upgrade.

What about my other custom settings, like the custom effects I have created for borders, edges, etc?

Effects should be the same steps, but the DefaultEffects file. Our upgrade process does get the settings from the previous version, but we found a case where it grabbed the info from Snagit 2018 instead of 2019. Apple's new file system gives us folders in a random order, and this was a case we had missed.

Just to follow up on this, 2020.1.0 has fixed this bug. It won't fix anything retroactively for anyone who has already upgraded, but this should prevent anyone else from running into it.
