Hello and thanks for stopping by!

With regard to the "Screen shot of Video Capture" are you referring to the option to export a PNG file of a video in Snagit? You can do so with this button:

As for "video capture of Screen shot" You can effectively do this by first opening Snagit 13 Capture Preferences (under File - Capture Preferences) then going to the Capture tab and deselecting "Hide Snagit when Capturing." You would then open the Snagit Editor, select the image capture you wish to make a video of, then use Snagit 13 to record the video.

Would those options suffice for what you're looking to do?

Actually the screen shot of video capture is easy if one just pauses the video and then do the screenshot.  For video capture of Screen shot, that would only work if SnagIt was working correctly as prior to the September 2017 version of SnagIt, there was a problem with vertical scrolling screen captures in Google Chrome that worked prior to August 2017 so basically I was trying to capture the problem which is it will vertically scroll a few times up and down and then it will somehow capture the address bar instead and also add a new bookmark as a result.  So going to the Snagit Editor and select the image capture will not work since the resulting image capture is just the address bar and not the chrome window content.  So I had to use FastStone Capture to do a video capture of SnagIt doing the screen capture to illustrate the problem to SnagIt support as seen in the video below which shows the exact problem and what is shown in SnagIt Editor would not be useful or even show the problem with the Screen Shot function.  What I am saying is SnagIt should allow starting a video capture and then still allow using the screen shot functions or in other words, instead of allowing only one function (screen capture or video capture), it should allow the use of both simultaneously.

Vertical Scroll has been problematic since it's inception.

If I were you, I would try using  Panoramic  Scrolling Capture instead. It works for me.

Veritical Scroll worked fine until sometime in August 2017, probably due to some changes in Chrome as I am using Chrome Beta which updates.  The problem was already fixed in the September 19, 2017 release of SnagIt 13.1.4 as seen here:
https://support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us/articles/115006435067%C2%A0?_ga=2.60401892.858861415.15061950...

19 September, 2017: Snagit 13.1.4
  • Fixed a scrolling capture bug with Chrome
  • Various other bug fixes

The purpose of the original post was not about a technical issue but a feature request for the future which is why it is labeled as a idea and was actually something Techsmith Support told me to do.   Panoramic Scrolling does work fine except it's not as convenient as pressing the Print Screen key with the keyboard.  It would be different if Print Screen will ask if one wants to screen capture, video capture or Panoramic Scroll capture which is another feature request I completely forgot about.

I didn't realize this was an post about an idea.  It's pretty easy to respond based on previous responses and miss the main point.Sorry I misunderstood. However.

I've never liked scrolling capture for the simple fact that it's functionality is inconsistent. From time to time it is constantly broken. Every time you turn around a browser update breaks it. Then TechSmith has to fix it. That always takes time.Sometimes several months.

Panoramic scrolling capture seems to be immunized from all that nonsense. I don't use it that often. The extra steps using Panoramic that ensure a successful capture, don't bother me in the least.

I had failure rates so high using scrolling capture. I probably lost as much time or more, due to those failures. Than I do using Panoramic.

I had to make sure I posted it as a idea before I responded. LOL.  You are right that Panoramic scrolling capture does work better but having to open up the hidden notification tray to get to SnagIt and then clicking my way to it just seems like a hassle.  Panoramic scrolling capture actually captures more since you can capture the entire screen if you wanted to instead of only the content on that webpage only.

Vertical scrolling doesn't even show up in Microsoft EDGE but that is a known issue which I looked up.

I just wished the Print Screen key can open up the same capture window as OneClick as I usually turn OneClick off since that small bar on the top of the screen just seems weird as I'm not used to it.
