I customize my toolbars, I close my computer at the end of the day. The next day, my "customized" toolbar is no longer visible.  Why?

Have you tried closing SnagIt after you have set the toolbar?  If you are closing at the end of the day by using the Windows Shutdown command, it's possible SnagIt isn't closing elegantly enough to save your changes.

Shot in the dark, but worth a try.

Quite likely the answer; any number of programs will not remember Last Used, setting changes, etc., if not shut down properly.

What version of SnagIt are you using? Some older versions of SnagIt have a bug that don't retain custom tool bar setups.
You close SnagIt, shut down your computer. The next day or the next time you fire up the computer, the tool bar is reset to factory default.

I'm running 2018.1.1 build 924 and I've noticed that I cannot get all of the tools on the toolbar. Surprising I find myself using all of the tools and I've tried placing all of the tools on the toolbar. I can get 22 on the toolbar if I try to place more they will appear on the toolbar until I either reboot my system or close/open SnagIt.

I've tried closing SnagIt and rebooting the system. There seems to be a limit as to how many tools you can place on the toolbar. When you hit the limit you can put an additional tool on the toolbar but when you close SnagIt and reopen it the tool will NOT be on the toolbar.

I have had the same problem and it is very annoying.  It seems to happen when I do not deliberately "exit" Snagit, or it is force-closed.  When I restart my computer, or repoen snagit, the toolbar has been reset to the default.

Since I have been "exiting" at the end of each day, if I have an unexpected force-close or restart, the custom toolbar is still the same as I customized when I start it up again.

The best solution would be for Snagit to have an option to SAVE toolbar settings or create and save a NEW default toolbar.
