It doesn't appear that Mac SnagIt! 2018 has feature parity with the windows version which supports trimming the in and out points of captured video.

For those of you on the Mac and needing to trim a few seconds off the front or back of a clip, or to split it into separate clips here are the steps you'll need to follow.

1 - Open SnagIt Editor and select the captured video clip you need to trim/split.
2 - Right mouse click on the video and choose "Reveal In Finder" you can also go to the menu bar and under File > and choose "Reveal in Finder."
3 - In the finder window right click the selected movie and choose "Open With" and select "QuickTime Player." You can also access this in the Finder's MenuBar by selecting "File" and subselecting "Open With" which should show a flyout with QuickTime Player as a choice.
4 - With the movie now open in QuickTime Player choose Command T for Trim or Command Y for Split (need to be on the frame you want to split). These commands are also available in QT's Menubar under Edit.
5 - To trim you simply select the yellow grabber bar next to the play icon in the movie window and move the beginning and the end points. Once dones choose File > Save.

If the SnagIt Developers or Product Manager see this post, please consider adding a simple "Edit in QuickTime Player" menu and right click choice for video clips in the editor/library.
