I would have bet my last dollar that in previous versions of SnagIt that you could locate .snag files on your local drive. Am I losing my mind?

Losing your mind? No more than the rest of us in here
Unsaved snags are supposed to be in the datastore folder which is located at "C:\Users\YOUR LOGIN\AppData\Local\TechSmith\Snagit\DataStore" unless you have moved it. Anything that you saved will be gone from the datastore folder
If stuff is missing from the LIBRARY, go to the datastore folder and load up any files that end in SNAG and it will put them back

Yes. it worked !!!
Anyone can get these unsaved files from
"C:\Users\YOUR LOGIN\AppData\Local\TechSmith\Snagit\DataStore"  which are stored  in .SNAG format, which will be able to open in SnagIT.
Thanks for help.

Remember it is temporary storage so ... keep it backed up. Make a backup folder in My documents (assuming you backup that folder and add a symlink to all your favorite appdata settings  for example
