OneClick happens to be a favorite of mine and before I upgrade I'd like to read more about it and see the new interface in action. The video you pointed to is for the old version. Can you please post something about this new version going through its paces.

Is there a way to turn off the OneClick interface? I'd rather just run from the system tray.

What if I don't want OneClick to pop up each time SnagIt starts up? How annoying is it to "assume" that everyone wants your new OneClick button?

I for one, like the "old" interface and find it annoying that your new OneClick button comes up each time SnagIt starts up. Yes I can turn it "off" with multiple mouse clicks, but how about a method for me to Permanently turn it off -
so I don't have to take an explicit user click action to remove it?
I dislike that I am forced to perform multiple clicks to remove it and that it takes up screen real estate and that it starts up slower now.

How about thinking through the design of such new features first and offer a permanent option to return to the older interface with a simple permanent SnagIt feature option to disable it (for good)?

Seems like every software company "knows what best for their users" and don't give them an easy method to return to previous interfaces without assuming that they "must" want their new feature set.

BTW - I can already capture everything I need to with 1 button push - my "Print Screen" button on my keyboard. I can immediately switch that behavior around from screen to region (generally region is more helpful to me) - immediately as needed. I don't need a big Black and Red button on the top window of my screen to do that.... I don't consider that a "design" improvement at all.

I watched the video and did not see where I could disable the OneClick completely, only turn it off each time I accessed the application.

Manny,

The new OneClick video should be on that page. If you still don't see it try clearing your cache.

Let me know what you think once you try it out!

Thanks, Logan. Realized to my chagrin that this was a Windows release, and I'm on Snagit for Mac. Thanks anyway!

Thank you both I see the video now and that's sufficient. It looks like it morphed a bit into as the Jing sun.

Let me make sure I understand this though. From the video it looks like I have to select a profile and then press the red button. That's two clicks. The old way you pressed the profile and you were capturing away.

Do I have this right? Did OneClick turn into TwoClick?

Hey Manny,

If you have your profile already set up, than it's one click. I made a short video showing you what I mean. I have it already set to image capture, than open editor. http://screencast.com/t/JHosGtFZalx

That help?

Thank you Logan. I see that.

If you want to change profiles, say from image to video, then is that two clicks unlike the old version?

It crashed on me, as well. Just upgraded from 11.1 on Windows XP and it is now completely unuseable. Every capture is a crash.

I'm onsite now looking for the 11.1 install. Want to go back to home base again.

My 11.1 version of SnagIt does not say there is an 11.2 upgrade even after checking for it.

The upgrade that I paid for – is NOT allowing me to register the product. I have attempted both PINs – my original version and the one you asked me to use with the upgrade. Neither are working and the app stays in Trial Mode for the last month. Now I can’t use the app. Please let me know how to fix as I do NOT have time to surf you KB for something that should just simply – work. #majorFAIL

I hate the new forced SnagIt Button and the fact you have to take an action to
remove it from your screen. Version 11.1 works just fine for me and I've just
gone back to that version. In fact, I've now removed the "auto check for new versions" because of this as well. I don't need to "improve" a product that is already working fine for me.

The button is useless for me and I can't see why that is now forced on users.

At least give user's a permanent program option to turn it off if they don't
want it - without forcing them to "click" the mouse to remove it.... Don't assume
that everyone will "love" your new features..... I don't and I can already grab
a screen snapshot with a single (1 and only 1) button push - PRINT SCREEN.

Hey there,
You are able to disable One Click with a few simple clicks. Here is how: https://support.techsmith.com/entries...

Hope that helps!

If you bothered to read my comments - you will see that I don't want to take an action each time SnagIt starts up to "Turn it off". How about a permanent solution that is part of the User Preferences so that I can "permanently" turn if off once and it doesn't require more "user clicks" each time SnagIt starts up. It doesn't help me and I don't want, nor do I want to be bothered with mouse clicks to disable it each time it starts up.

I work in software, so you can't tell me this would be difficult to do as part of the permanent preferences. You just assume that everyone will "love it" and always want it each time it starts up - and that they can turn if off with a "few simple clicks." How annoying....

Still using Version 11.0.0 (Build 207) from Jan 2012. No need to upgrade. I now use a Single Click mouse button that I tied to my Mouse Trapper, so I don't have have to push "Print Screen" - which was still only a single button push. Now it's a simple mouse click without even moving the mouse for me. Both the Print Screen button push (available to all users), or my new programmed mouse click (tied to Print Screen) solutions don't take up any screen real estate whatsoever and are much faster and less intrusive than your "Big Button" on the screen.

Your Version 11.2 Big Button is a ridiculous feature to push to all users when they already had a single button push (Print Screen) for an all-in-one capture. Your programmers must have taken lessons from Microsoft's philosophy that user's want Big Buttons in your face like Windows 8. It's the dumb down philosophy that user's need great big buttons in their faces to operate a computer. Classic definition of Bloatware....but even worse when users must take an action to temporarily turn off - every time they start up Ver 11.2 !! - You guys (along with Microsoft now), need to take some Human Factors classes.
