Snagit 11 MAC vs PC Version

Ok, so I've now installed a copy of Snagit 11 on both my MAC and my Windows PC. I'm afraid I'm really disappointed in the MAC version and all the missing features.

I've gone on and on about Text Capture not being on the MAC, so that is number 1.
But, what about Sharing to iWork -- Keynote, Pages, or Microsoft Powerpoint and Word for the MAC? We have very few of the output choices available on the PC.

Come on folks can't we bring the mac version to a comparable level with the PC?

Hi Bob,

We recently released Outputs for Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and Word. You can download them here: http://www.techsmith.com/snagit-acces.... Just click the "Mac Outputs" tab on the right.

Once you download the "snagitplugin" files for the Office outputs, simply double-click them and they will install into Snagit.

I realize this is only touches on one of your questions, but I did want to give you an update on those.

With regards to feature parity, we are continuing to work towards bringing the Mac and Windows versions of Snagit closer together based on the top requests from customers. We certainly appreciate your feedback regarding text capture.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Jason,

Very Nice! The MS/Office copy works great! Thanks for the great copy plugins.

But...

since we are implementing on a MAC, how about the iLife and iWork applications (i.e. iLife (iPhoto, iMovie, iWeb, iDVD), iwork(Pages, Keynote, and Numbers))?

Hi Bob,

Excellent, I'm glad we finally got that working :)

We really appreciate the feedback and request for the iLife and iWork suites, I will pass it along to our Product Manager, Tiffany.

I did want to add that while we don't have outputs directly to these applications, you can drag and drop from the Snagit tray area in the editor to the dock icon for these applications.

This will take your capture and pass it along to those respective applications.

Jason,

That is very cool. I just checked it out. I added some effects to the capture to make sure everything worked and it was perfect! This is terrific.

Agreed that the PC and Mac versions of SnagIt should have reasonable parity. We're having the same discussion here...

Apologies for resurrecting a dead thread, but I'd also like to see a few features in the Mac version that are only in the Windows version:
  • Bezier Curves for arrows/lines
  • Highlighting zoom (the thing where the subject is zoomed in, while the background is blurred and dimmed)
  • Sharing to Imgur. I realize that's not something that you directly support, but the plugin for Windows at https://github.com/hmemcpy/SnagitImgur works there, so I'm pretty sure it could work on OSX.
