I just tried the new SnagIt 12 and found it doesn't have the classic window anymore. I don't like that. The classic windows gives me more control and it's easier to select things with. Also, I don't like the new Metro design. I'm staying with v11.4

I agree with this post. I have just spent 30 minutes searching on Snag Database trying to find a way to go back to the old capture window. Ver. 11 made this easy with a "classic capture" button. I do not like this thing hanging on the edge of my window waiting for me to move my mouse over it. I want to launch it when I want it and push it away when I don't. I do a lot of remote desktop which already puts a hide/show bar across the top of my screen making it almost impossible to launch snag it unless I move it to the side, but then it can messes with my scrolling through windows. Please tell me how to get the classic window back. (I have tried going into the registery as one post suggested and placing a zero for enable one click - however this did not work.). I am sticking with old version until this is fixed.

The new captures window, which can be placed anywhere on the edge of the screen, isn't the only way to initiate a capture.  Aside from the normal hotkeys you can also right click the tray icon to take a capture.  The classic window is gone probably never to return.  Personally, I don't mind its demise as I never used it but I can understand the frustration of people who did.  If its exit really bothers you than the only current solution is to stay with the old version.

I agree 100% with Peppino.  I do not want Snagit running continuously in the background.  I want to be able to start Snagit with one click (i.e. quick launch).  I want to be able to exit (and stop) Snagit with one click (X in upper right corner).  I do not understand why TechSmith would remove the capability to operate in such a fashion.  Unfortunately for me, this means that I will have to do without some of the other nice features that come with the newer versions.
