I am interesting in upgrading from SnagIt 11 to 12, but something caught my eye:  One option during the purchase is to get "free" upgrades for a year, including major and minor upgrades, for about $12.95.  What's that about?  In the past, with SnagIt 11, I've gotten upgrades (especially patches) as part of the deal.  So what exactly does that option cover?  And if I don't select it, does that mean I don't even get MINOR upgrades to fix bugs or things like that?

Hmmm, it will be interesting to see what TechSmith replies with on this. It's always been my own understanding that all minor upgrades are free and one only pays for major. But perhaps this signals a change in that policy.

Cheers... Rick :)

You still get normal upgrades for free.
If you were to purchase the upgrade agreement and SnagIt 13 came out in that  1 year timeframe you could get it for free. I saw this response from Techsmith in another thread a while back. It's confusing for sure.
