snagit screencast. Seems like there is not an easy way to get the url from snagit once the file has been uploaded to screencast. here is a quick video.

Hello Mark,

The URL for your media is automatically placed on your clipboard. You do not need to go to to retrieve it. Simply place your cursor where you want the link and choose paste.

I hope this helps.

If I don't see the notification that the item has finished uploading and am doing something else at the moment (usually the case when videos are being shared, because it can take minutes to upload sometimes), then I lose the URL from the clipboard. This happens if while I am multi tasking I happen to use ctrl+copy for some other work I'm doing.
Isn't there a way to go back and retrieve the URL from within SnagIt? Or is my only option to go to and find it?
If so... please consider making that possible right from the application.

Totally agree with valintrusa.  What would be really awesome is if it gave you the URL before it finished uploading and then just notified you when it was done...

Youtube tells you the url before it's live... that kind of thing.  That would let me send of my emails, post my bugs, etc without having to wait....

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled
Snagit: Don't unnecessarily re-upload to

Every time I hit " URL on the clipboard" in the Snagit editor, the media is uploaded.

It would be nicer when it would be uploaded only once.

The reason why that's nice is that even when I remember already having uploaded something to screencast, I would want to use the Snagit history to find the link it's uploaded to.

EDIT (after the merge): This ticket is pointing to something even more annoying I hadn't yet realized as a problem. My suggestion was more focused on re-retrieving the links of uploads some time ago. But I guess the solution to both issues could be the same.
