Suggestion is that we build a list of what isn't working & then maybe someone can spot the conflict / cause of the problem and identify a resolution that works for all.
So, to start the ball rolling my setup is as below:
O/S: Windows 8.1 Pro (all updates installed as at 05/02/2014)
Browser: Chrome Version 32.0.1700.107 m
SnagIt: Version 11.4.0 (Build 176) - Dec 18 2013
Chrome Extensions Loaded: Evernote Web Clipper 6.0.9 / Google Docs 0.5 / LastPass 3.0.22

We are testing a possible fix for the Chrome 32 scrolling.
Until that is ready, if you need to do a scrolling capture from Chrome with Snagit, unfortunately the only option is to go back to Chrome 31. We haven't found any workarounds for Chrome 32.
Thanks,

Very happy with this answer - thanks - it is clear and unequivocal!
It means I don't need to spend any more time trying to find a solution.
Obviously looking forward to the solution being rolled out when ready.
regards
John

Yes, we are not able to work with the new Chrome scrollbars, they are not a standard Windows OS control. We will have a mechanism in place to work with the new scrollbars soon.

SNAGIT - scolling window capture no longer works since upgrade.
Since I installed the last update the scrolling window capture no longer works. This is an import feature of Snagit for me and I'd appreciate your help in fixing it.

In chrome, the scrolling window feature grabs whatever is visible plus a tiny bit more. In IE, SnagIt 11.3 doesn't even come up with the yellow arrow icon indicating that it "sees" a window that can be scrolled.

This seems to be a Mac OS-X/Chrome problem too. I am having problems with Snagit crashing when trying to do a scrolling capture of a Chrome window since the update to 32.
OS: OS X 10.9.1
Snagit: 2.3.0 (77145)
Chrome: 32.0.1700.107
I can see that you have released a new Windows version to address this problem. Can we expect a Mac version too?

There is another problem with the combination of Chrome and Windows 8.1 that could be occurring. Look for this setting on your Windows 8.1 and disable it : http://screencast.com/t/1huqJf5u See if that helps the capture.

I enabled "let me choose one scaling level for all my displays" then signed out and back in. The issue is still there. I'm running Snagit 11.4.1 build 195.

Web page snatch doesn't work.
Greetings!
I recently upgraded from Snagit 10 to Snagit 11 and now the web page snatch doesn't work anymore.
It now picks the bar at the top.

As well as the scrolling no longer works.
Anyone else noticing this problem?
Best regards - Simon

What about snagit 10 - I'm in 10.0.2 (build 21) and experiencing the same issue with Chrome 33?
Thanks

I'm sorry and I understand that it is frustrating but unfortunately we don't yet see a way to get older versions of Snagit to work with the latest browser situations and I don't know of any workarounds at this point to help.
I tried using custom scroll and that doesn't work with the latest Chrome either. My theory is that that there are settings in Chrome( see Chrome:://flags for possibilities ) that might turn down the hardware rendering enough that custom scroll would work but I haven't found any magical combinations yet. In general, custom scrolling does work better when there isn't as much hardware rendering occurring.

11.4.2 should allow scrolling on Chrome for more machines than 11.4.1 did, if you are still having problems and you have 11.4.2 please let us know.

Do you have Windows 8.1? There is still a problem on 8.1 when using Snagit for autoscrolling Chrome in the new per monitor DPI scaling mode.
To see if this is the issue you can look at my post here to disable this new scaling mode:

We have confirmed that Snagit 11.4.2 will not autoscroll Chrome 34, and we are testing a possible fix.
Until that is ready, if you need to do a scrolling capture from Chrome 34 from Snagit, I have confirmed that custom scrolling works so give this a try :

I purchased Snagit for 1 single reason.. scrolling Capture.
I have not been able to use this feature for well over a year now...
Even after you guys "promise" it will be fixed, it hasn't and none of your new versions work.
Needless to say, I give up on this product and will buy other software.

What version of Snagit are you using?
What version of Chrome are you using?
As far as I know, the latest version of Chrome V35 and Snagit 11.4.3 should work for auto-scrolling.

The latest version of Snagit 11.4, 11.4.3 and Snagit 12.0 should scroll Chrome V34 and V35 fine.
If you are seeing Snagit not scroll Chrome please post here with your versions of Chrome and Snagit so we can take a look at it.

I only do custom scrolls that leave out the advertising on the sides of the webpage. Any change in an Image from one image to the next will create a problem. If there is a flashing or changing advertisement in the center of a scroll. Lucky timing of the capture would be required.
Scrolling captures take several Images to create. Each image overlaps the next one by quite a bit. That's how the Images are aligned.
You can create a Panorama in Photoshop by taking several pictures and stitching them together. You Pan across the Horizon capturing several small images. Successfully rendered Panorama's work best when each Image overlaps the other by at least 30%. That's how the stitching process create a nearly flawless Image.
If a large Goose flying by occupies a significant portion in one of the images, Photoshop can't solve that problem.
SnagIt is no different, Avoid capturing the Goose "So to Speak" . { I got to amuse myself some how }

Thanks. Not sure if that's the whole problem, but sounds good. Not sure .. once I start a scrolling capture, how to stop it and capture just that portion. And then not sure how to start capturing another scroll, starting from a new point. Is there a tutorial on how to do this? Just never had to do it before.
