Snagit crashes when trying to capture window.

Snagit on Mac is crashing when I try to capture windows. The program doesn't quit but the menu icon disappears and the window capture doesn't start. Relaunching the software brings back the menubar icon but I can't capture windows or screens from the program.

Hi Shaun,

We're really sorry for the troubles you're having. We have a known issue with our "Window Capture" mode, where certain menubar applications cause our capture process to fail. If you don't mind, could you try closing your other applications that run solely from the menubar, and then try Snagit's window capture again?

Also, can you create a help ticket with our Technical Support department so we can get you up and running, I believe there is a workaround for this particular problem? http://techsmith.custhelp.com/app/ask

It looks like it relates to Chrome. When I quit Chrome everything works as expected.

I've not heard much activity around this issue for some time, but I'm confident Nick, or another person in Support can get you up and running again. Sorry for the issue!
