SnagItEdtor: the first time after a capture, the editor shows up. In the toolbar at the top, there is a 'Finish' button. When clicking on the Finish button the capture is saved.
When closing and re-opening the editor, the "Finish" button has changed into an "Email"-button.

Why is this?
How to get the "Finish" button back there?

Sometimes the Finish button is handier: after some editing and clicking Finish, the original capture is untouched, the edited capture is saved as a new file.
In case of the Email button (i.e. after closing and re-opening the editor), one has to use File->Save As->provide new name in order to keep the original untouched.
In this case the Finish button is faster and ... saver.

That's normal behavior. Presumably the logic is that if you don't complete your profile by pushing the green arrow then Snagit does it for you by saving the capture as a SNAG file in the datastore. This is somewhat explained in the help file for the Draw tab.

The way I work around that is to place the Save As command on the toolbar, shown below, then it's just one click away.

Actually, I agree with you since I see no real reason why the green arrow should go away when the editor closes. If you set up a profile that you haven't finished then it should stay that way until you do.

Thanks and sorry for the delay. Well, 'normal behaviour'... I guess we accept is as normal, but I am not sure whether we should define it as normal. Question is: why would it not be there again, the finish button.

When I click on Finish - in my case - I have configured the file to be saved as 'SnagIt-ddmmyyyy hhmmss'. Save as requires naming and me removing the '-'.
Anyway, the "Finish"-button for me is a better option.

There is an option to add "Finish" (from "Share") to the Quick Access Toolbar, but this button disappears after closing and relaunching the editor, i.e. it does not stick.

It goes like the below...
