I would love to see SnagIt functionality extended to ChromeOS. Many K12 schools are now using Google Chromebooks and a SnagIt extension for ChromeOS (not just for the Chrome browser) would be an excellent addition. I have been a TechSmith customer for a long time (SnagIt and Camtasia Studio) and I would be willing to pay for a SnagIt ChromeOS extension.

Yes, absolutely. An important improvement for the Chromebook, and with the penetration of Chromebooks into K-12, I think its something to consider.

Dennis, I too was wanting/waiting on Jing to catchup, but I found a much better solution, i.e. when you want to capture a page, hold down you Ctrl key and tap the button above the '6' key that looks like three screens fanned out.

To capture a portion of the screen, hold the Ctrl and Shift key and then tap the fanned screen button. A small, very small '+' symbol will appear. Move that to the top left of what you want to capture, then hold the left click and drag to where you want to capture in pic on the bottom right.

All of this, and more cool features, can be found at the upper right of your Chrome screen were the 3 horizontal lines are, then under Settings.

Please get a version for Chrome OS of SnagIt. I switched to a notebook and am lost without it.  Such a great tool!

I am a virtual teacher with a public high school and we are required to use Chromebooks. I find my self frustrated with the lack of products out there. I find myself FREQUENTLY going to my PC just to use snag it and camtasia. PLEASE I BEG YOU - bring TECHSMITH to the Chrome OS.

As a long time Snagit user I would appreciate Chrome OS support. I am working primarily on my Chromebook now and miss Snagit.

As a 20 year user of Snagit and user of Chromebook since its beta, I too would welcome Snagit for ChromeOS.

+1 to the request. On top now, when Linux is available on Chromebooks I would modify request:
Please bring Snaggit on Chrome OS or Linux.
Please!

It is SAD that this request is 7 years old.  :-(   I don't know how Evernote can do it but Techsmith can't?

I think for Snagit to be available for Chrome OS it would need to be in the Chrome OS version of the Google Play Store.  Items there are probably $10-20 at the most.  I don't think Techsmith is interested in selling its product at that cheap of a price.  The same probably applies to Linux, though if it were, Snagit would also be available on other UNIX-like platforms in addition to Chromebooks.

IF snagit was fully chrome I would have no problem paying the current rates.
