I recently dl Snagit for iMac (trial version) I am a snagit user for win for years!
I find the Mac version very good, but I am sorry to say that after some captures while I
was testing, the iMac was frozen to dead. The keyboard and mouse were completely dead, with the hair crossing also frozen on the screen. Only by resetting with the power switch the iMac was going again.

Hi Jacob,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about this issue, I know you mentioned this happened after taking a few test captures, are you continuing to experience this behavior every few captures?

Are you running Lion (10.7)?

There are two workarounds to cancel a capture if things seem to be going awry, the easiest one is to hit the "esc" key and the other is to right-click your mouse. Another thing to try if you have different spaces (Snow Leopard/Leopard) or desktops (Lion), is to switch to a different space/desktop, and quit the Snagit process using the Activity Monitor application.

Thanks and have a wonderful day,

Jason

Hi Jason,
I told you that Snagit had frozen everything : display with crosshair, mouse (mac),
display and iMac itself (Lion 10.7) Pressing the powerswitch of the mac is the
only thing that helps.
I think the Wacom Oversized tablet with the pressure sensitive pen(mouse) is
causing the trouble. The movements of the cursor can be extremely fast.
Pressing the red snagit button and moving the pen very, very fast, the problem occurs.
( but in less than 1 in 10 trials) Doing things normal nothing serious happens.

There is another thing that I don't like (or maybe I am doing things wrong) is that
setting in preferences to save the capture with extension .jpg in a special folder
instead it is always saved as .snagproj. I don't like to go via snagit edit to capture as jpg.

Meanwhile I purchased Snagit for Mac

Hey Jacob,

Sorry that it has taken this long to respond. Thank you for the clarification on the issue you're encountering, I don't think this is something we have ran into in our testing. We have used Snagit with the smaller Wacom Bamboo tablet, but I don't think we've seen the same bug.

I'd like to put you in touch with one of our Technical Support Specialists to make sure we're covering all of our bases to help you out :)

Again, thank you very much for taking the time to share the problem, we'll be following up shortly.
