SnagIt for the iPad. The MAC version is great, but could be expanded for the iPad

Is Snagit for iPad available? You don't need ANY editing software. Just to be able to capture pics or videos from an iPad for instructional purposes. Are you planning to release a copy?????

You CAN capture images on the Ipad - Hitting the Home button and the on/off switch at the same time - Use Dropbox for the Ipad to upload to your computer to edit in the Snagit Editor/

I'm interested in this option, but really do not understand the info you provided. Can you elaborate on what happens after you hit the home button and on/off switch? I heard a picture-taking sound, but don't know where the Dropbox is and how to get the screen shot to my PC. Thanks. R.Reaves

Richard, It is the same as print screen button in desktop/laptop but snagit has its own importance. Now a days ipad is use quite often to create presentations and documents on the go (in trains and all) it will be great if I don't have to take a printscreen by home and lock key and then edit and crop it.

I think it is a great idea and can help ipad users to get satisfied.

Richard,

Thank you for your advice. IT WORKS!!!!!

I'm new to the iPad world and I am still learning. I use Camtasia to create video tutorials for my products and the iPad/iPhone world is a major one for us.

Again, thank you.

Once you have captured your images if you want to do some annotation then you can use Skitch for iPad (poor mans SnagIt) it's capable but nothing on desktop SnagIt. Lets hope that TechSmith have SnagIt for iPad on the way! You can get Skitch here:

I would like to, on Android, perform a "rolling capture", a.k.a. "scrolling capture". I would also like to be able to flip an image, annotate it with arrows, text, circles, and squares, and draw on it with my finger/stylus.

like Richard Campbell mentioned that you can easily capture images from your i pad. all you need to do just go to your i pad's home tab and at the same time just off your device and then on again. and using drop box is a good option.

As so many students are using IPads, (and teachers), it would be extremely beneficial to have SnagIt functionality for the Ipad would be awesome! As a long time SnagIt user, I would happily pay for this alternate version in addition to my PC version. Perhaps you could bundle several TechSmith tools and let your customers pick which they want, cafeteria style. IPad SnagIt would be on my list as a MUST HAVE! :)

Another vote for SnagIt for iPad.

When testing mobile apps at our company, our test teams needs to be able to take screenshots to document proof that functionality was tested (for audit purposes). Since the apps may have a series of screens, managing this through saving files to the Pictures gallery will be very slow and cumbersome for them.

Ideally, they would like to be able to put the screenshot on the clipboard and then paste it into an open document. The document is then saved with the imbedded images to support a test script and becomes the proof needed to satisfy our auditors.

I would really like to have snagit on my iPad. I've used it for years but it would be very useful to be able to take pictures with my iPad out in the field and edit the photos just like I was back at the office.

I'm sad people have suggested this before and nothing has been made as of yet

There are no apps out there that come close

When great companies disappear over time it is usually from boneheaded decisions such as still not offering an iPad version of Snagit after all this time. Of course the longer you wait the more competition there will be and the harder it will be to establish yourselves. (And this is from a fan!)

Can I put in a request for SnagIt for Android?! Much larger user base than iOS. There are other screen capture tools, but nobody does it better than SnagIt. The ability to capture video would be a big plus, too.

use Snagit on both Mac & PC...it's my go to app for collecting info to store on Evernote... iPad seems empty without it!

Yes, yes, yes Snagit for ipad! While it would be great to have as many features as possible the key things for me would be the ability to capture selected images and text, add basic annotations and with ability to use a variety outputs - Evernote, dropbox, Twitter, email and to Snagit desktop. I would probably do any extensive editing on the desktop, but the ability to capture on iPad with several output options would be a terrific start. Right now I capture screens and fiddle with getting it off the camera roll to Snagit desktop.

Snagit for an ipad would be great. I would use it to capture scrolling web pages. I know I can capture a piece at a time by click both the power button and the home button but that's not good for scrolling pages. Too much work to capture piece by piece and the stitch them all together. I hope a Verizon for iOS comes out sooner than later.

Take a look at this - it is available now on ipad...a stripped down version of SnagIt http://evernote.com/skitch/ With some work, TechSmith could shine with a product like this. Am sure the limitations of the IOS operating system are what is standing in the way. Hope you can find a way.

I'd guess TechSmith has been scared about how to make money on iOS and android apps when most people want free apps.

The problem is mobile devices are making desktops and laptops marginal and if your business is based only on markets that are falling to the wayside then your business will fall to the wayside.

TechSmith please give me a call (or at least somebody that can help you out before it is too late). From a fan!

SnagIt for iOS.

Has there been anythought to porting SnagIt to iOS for iPhone/iPad? It would be helpful to have some of the capabilities such as the scrolling screenshot on the iPhone/iPad instead of just the builtin screen capture.

Hi Everyone,

Apologies for the radio silence on this topic. We'd like to revive this conversation...

We're still very interested in this concept, but we need more information to continue evaluating how it fits on our roadmap. Can you tell us more about what you're trying to do on mobile that you're currently unable to accomplish? What needs do you have that are left unmet? The mobile environment has changed a lot over the years, so we want to make sure we aren't investing time in something that won't really make a splash!

We're so grateful for your insights and passion around this topic!

Thanks,

Jason

Jason. thanks for reviving our hopes that Techsmith might actually develop SnagIt for iPad/iPhone.

Personally my single greatest use would be snagging portions of the display to edit / forward / archive (and any combination thereof).

Yes, I am aware of the full screen capture techniques and photo editing apps, but this requires so many steps, and still cannot match the result that I now get on my PC with SnagIt 12. The greatest features are convenience, extensive editing capability and the sharing functionalities.

So please count me as a definite buyer of IPad SnagIt, and I know at least 5 other iPad users that feel the same.

Then we take on Android where also myself and many others I know are standing in line for Android SnagIt to come available.

Where can I send a reservation deposit?

Thanks, Dave

I'm most interested in the editor. I like using the stamps to simplify things, highlighter, arrows, etc. Blurring and cutting out portions, resizing and cropping, are just a few other features I use a lot. Thank you!

I use Snagit daily on my work PC, however I spend most of my day away from my desk. It would be great to have Snagit on my iPad so I can use it's functions no matter where I am. I can safely say there are a few thousand people in the large company I work for that now have iPads and would happily purchase Snagit!

As a teacher, I'd love to give feedback to my students using a stylus to circle and highlight along with the audio of my voice. Just like if I was using a pen and doing it right in front of them

I'm also excited by the new hope we might finally get SnagIt for IOS, I've wanted something I can use on Ipad that allows me to take parts of screenshots and then incorporate them into others documents for training purposes. I use the Windows version daily at work for all sorts of reasons and crave the flexibility it brings when I get home but nothing I've found comes close. Please please develop if for us.
