I would like a way to export multiple images from SnagIt. Voila has this functionality. From the Snagit application, I can only select one image from the filmstrip at a time. Is there a way to select multiple images? If not, this needs to be added.

easy workaround. just select all drag into a folder then use the free app PDF Connect to batch merge them into a PDF.

Not working on Mountain Lion 10.8.3/PDF Connect 1.2. Doesn't recognize the snagproj files as images.

Wow, very disappointing Techsmith. We are going to stop using your software at our company because of this.

I've recently converted from Win to Mac, and am too missing this feature. Actually, if we just had profiles to instantly save captures to a file type and location, it would lessen the need for batch export. (Someone please tell me that I'm just missing this in the menus somewhere... I feel like it must be there!) The windows version of Snagit is so good, it makes the mac version look so much worse in comparison.

My snagit evangelism now has to start with "what OS are you on?"

seriously TechSmith -- it's completely ridiculous that the Mac version does not have a batch export command.

Nor am I able to use command + A to select all of the screenshots from my capture tray.

I use Snagit on an almost daily basis.
I just had to screenshot a project I'm working on which has 120 pages.

Not having select all or a batch export option is extremely inefficient and motivation to find another application to fulfill my screenshot needs.

Get it together TechSmith.

Ok, this app came as a recommendation, but I will not be buying it anytime soon. I take the time to take a series of screenshots, yet I can only export 1 at a time. I want to be able to export multiple image and export it 1 PDF, just as everyone else recommended. 12 months later still no feature, and Mac OSX already exports natively, so this app is pretty useless outside of adding some text and arrows.

As an additional feature, it would be nice to create folders or "projects". So I can save a series of captures and associate to some task. Client says, "can you take screenshots of X process". It would naturally be nice to take these screenshots in a sequence and edit the captures at a later date (in context to the sequence).

In addition to having this functionality in the app, there should be Automator actions available to work with snagproj files in a Workflow.

How disappointing. I was hoping to find this exact functionality here. Is there any way to script a conversion from .snagproj to .jpg?

This is the main reason I switched from Snagit to a competitor - I simply want to select multiple images and export at once. One by one is primitive by todays computing standards...

Robert, let us know, I have to switch as well, I am stuck with this problem big time. I have like 100 images I need to add to a word document and I am really very frustrated with SnagIT!

I switched to Snapz Pro X for Mac - no library feature, but every capture is saved to a format and destination of your choosing - much easier for lots of captures. I just finished an ebook and need to capture 100+ screenshots.

I love the features in SnagIt, but workflow needs to be improved...

"In short, Snagit doesn't have the ability to export multiple images."

2 years later and you still haven't added this feature?

WTF is wrong with you?

I can't batch export images from inside the SnagIt to the hard disk.

I can't batch convert Snagit saved proprietary images to normal images from the disk folder either.

Now with OS Mavericks the snagit images won't even show up in normal size via Finder "Preview".

The whole program is totally useless.

I'm off to find a competitor who gets it.

A new release and still no batch export. Unreal.
At least a real company would man up and explain why they are choosing to ignore their customers. You might have a good reason.
For now, I will just assume y'all are a horrible company to do business with.

Good Morning Joe,

I understand your frustration and I sincerely appreciate your fervent interest in the batch export functionality. At TechSmith, we are continually striving to solve problems that real people are experiencing and we do acknowledge that the problems outlined in this thread are clearly significant and unsolved for our customers. We greatly and deeply care about our customers' satisfaction and at the same time admit that we make decisions about the problems solved in a given software release that will keep us from solving a different set of problems. To be frank, I wish that I could tell you that this is next on our list to add to Snagit, but I'll admit that it's not.

As the product owner for Snagit, I do apologize for the frustration this is causing and do take the feedback of this passionate thread seriously.

Thank you again for the feedback, it matters a great deal to us,

Jason

"at the same time admit that we make decisions about the problems solved in a given software release that will keep us from solving a different set of problems."

Releasing a (separate) small utility that could batch convert already saved .snagproj files on disk to png/jpg would not create any additional problems & would be a godsend.

Can you do this please?

Batch export on Mac is absolutely a NECESSITY!  It works great on my PC, but it is a MUST HAVE for Mac.  Please provide a timeframe for this functionality.

Me too! switched to Voila, it's part of a Stack Social bundle for less than $10. Much more polished. Pity, as I liked a number of things about Snagit, but there is obviously little effort going into the mac version.

Same story here. The people I work with mostly use Windows and they recommended that I buy SnagIt. So I did only to find that I have to painfully export one screenshot at a time if I want them as a jpg or a png.

I have just finished listening to the Techsmith Roadmap webcast. In the webcast, Techsmith claims to listen to customers, analyze use cases and prioritize features accordingly for the next releases. Unfortunately, after reading comments in this forum I came to the conclusion that Techsmith's interest is mainly about broadening the scope of the product in an attempt to reach out to a larger number of users. In the meantime, the ones of us who are mainly interested in making image capture a more streamlined process are left with the limitation of a severely crippled software package... What I don't think it is totally fair is that Techsmith is asking current customers to pay for investments mainly focused to expand its user base.... sad.

Its really painful not having a batch convert or batch export facility on the Mac... So much for compatibility!! I am using Snagit 3.0.2 and am very disappointed that its still not available....... Most of us in the company use Mac's, this is a serious issue when trying to get the buy-in for this product.

Batch Export is officially released in Snagit Mac v3.2!

You can access it by going to File > Batch Export.  In the window you can view your previous unconverted captures and quickly export them to different image formats.

Here are some screenshots:

Thanks!

Snagit Batch Convert for Mac.

I use Snagit and Camtisia exclusively to do the graphics on my website, Exploring the Elder Scrolls Online. ESO is an MMORPG, so I'm constantly taking pictures while I play to add in to later posts.

Since this is for a blog, I want the images to be optimized as much as possible. As a result, I save the pictures as lower quality jpegs, then run the saved photos through ImageOptim to further shrink their file size.

In a given day of shooting photos, I'm likely to have 50-60 pics or more, depending on what blog posts I'm lining up images for. Some days I end up with well over 100 photos to organize and prepare to go into posts. Individually converting each photo after a long shooting session is frustrating and time consuming, but currently necessary since I can't run a standard SnagIt file through ImageOptim.

Please, is there a work-around to batch convert files in Snagit, or are you currently working towards including this in the Mac version? It would be much appreciated.
