I do not have a time frame that I can share. However, we have completed a lot of the development and it's currently in testing. The last thing we have to wrap up from a development perspective are the effects.

Hello,
While most of this thread talks about Snagit and retina, there were some questions about Jing. The Jing update just came out (August 21, 2012).
It should be prompting you to update within the next 24 hours. You can also force the update manually by clicking More > Help > Check for update. (Screenshot: http://www.screencast.com/t/2G454Df3 )
Thanks for using Jing!

We released it, but had to pull it for a bug where the annotation wasn't staying on the image. The developers worked to fix and text the bug, and we should be releasing the retina version again any moment.
I'm sorry I overlooked this thread and didn't update it with the news of the release and its near immediate recall. I would try a manual update in about an hour.
I'll keep this thread up and post any news as it comes in.
Sorry for the confusion,
Mike Curtis

Today we released Snagit for Mac 2.1.2. Snagit 2.1.2 has been optimized for capturing and editing on the Retina display.
Snagit 2.1.2 is currently only available to non-AppStore customers. It will be available to AppStore customers as soon as it is approved by Apple.

This is a great conversation that's separate from the main topic, so I created a new topic to continue the discussion. Please reference the new topic here: Fonts sizes do not display properly on 2.1.2

Hi Carmen,
It's great Snagit now works with Retina displays and I don't have to resize pics when I put them into Word, Outlook etc. However I now find the pictures appear somewhat foggy/grainy... like some sort of strange 'foggy' filter is being applied. I'll try and do some more investigation, but not sure if anyone is seeing this?

One possibility in the interim would be to download the 30 day trial of Snagit 2.1.1 here http://www.techsmith.com/download/sna.... Once the app store version has been approved, you could then uninstall the non-App Store version.
Thanks,
Jason
