Snagit: Show previous area to modify and then capture. (idea from video capture)

In image capture, one can start capture and select the area to capture.

When pressing Ctrl-Shift-R, capture occurs without allowing you to manipulate the previously selected area.

In video capture, it always displays the area which you may modify.

For videos, you need to save the previous selected area, to display for next time to recapture the same area. Currently it redisplays the default area.

For images, you may use the same technique but allow for preserving the last selected area.

Hello! Thank you for the idea.

Just to make sure I understand, are you saying you want Snagit to suggest an area to capture automatically when you hit the red one-click button? Sorry if I misunderstood.

Hello!

In image mode, when you hit prt sc snagit allows you to specify the area to capture.

When next using Ctrl-Shift-R, snagit recaptures the previous selected region.

In video mode, Ctrl-Shift-R redisplays the default region where you need to readjust the size.

So what I like to see is the following:

In video mode, recapture to display the selected area for a moment to readjust the size if required. This size is taken to be the default for the next recapture.

In image mode, I  look for the same idea borrowed from video, with the addition of waiting to readjust the size if needed.

As a previous programmer, I am aware of the many IFs and THENs.

So what IF a user wants to keep the same area, why bother him with displaying the area, THEN this behavior can be timed by count down, and if no action, then snapshot is taken.

This just an Idea, and I am sure it may trigger other better ideas.
