SnagItEditor - add option to show magnifier for precise selection

SnagItEditor - sometimes I need to very precisely select an area.
In such cases, or maybe even in -all- cases(?), it would be nice to have a magnifier to properly select the area.

The same magnifier that is available when capturing an area (see below)

I have done a quick search on the forum, probably this has been suggested before in some other context(?), I am not sure.
Also not sure what happened with previous requests/suggestions, hence a new thread.
Sorry.

Thanks.

I've always found it easiest to snag a little to much on all 4 sides, then crop down to exactly what I want. If I take too much, <ctrl>-Z  allows for a do-over.

How long have you been using SnagIt, Ed?

Seems like eons ago, but one version eliminated one of my most favorite features that I used all the time. It was a dialog that allowed using spin controls to crop away edges of your image. The spin controls allowed operating in one pixel increments.

I still miss that little gizmo terribly! It was so very handy.

Cheers... Rick :)

Ed, this is not always possible. I'll try to illustrate, say I want to shift the tagged menu items  more to the the top, but need to remain within the borders of the menu box, then Ineed to be exactly between the tag items and box border.
In such cases a magnifier is very handy.

I am not a programmer, but I guess that it is not very hard to add: after all, the module/routine, or whatever it is called, is already available when doing a normal capture.

Personally, I'd love to see this option.

Had to send someone a screenshot but needed to do some editing so as to minimize it and hide 'private' stuff.

Here is another example.

I came here to post this question/feature request (have to say that the search and suggest features of this forum software are superb).

I too would REALLY like to be able to bring up the magnifier cursor when using the selection tool / crop tool / shape tool etc.  It would also be great to be able to nudge the cursor pixel by pixel like you can when taking a screenshot.
