SnagItEditor - Capture button: start capturing immediately, using last used preset

SnagItEditor - capture button in the toolbar - it simply launches SnagIt and one has to click on the Capture button there, as an additional step, i.e. it does not capture.

Suggestion: have it start capturing immediately, using the last used (= active) preset.
Else, that button should be renamed to SnagIt (?)
No disrespect.

Thanks - However, with me, this will bring SnagIt, it does not start capturing.

The purpose of that Capture button has always eluded me.  What does it do that the hotkey doesn't already do quicker?

If you have the option set to include SnagIt screens in captures, it will only let you capture the Editor screen.

Weird function.  I ignore it

SnagIt 11 and all previous versions let you assign profiles to the capture button. It was a half circle button that extended a little lower into the monitors viewing area.
I've seen people complaining that the new one click is too narrow to see easily.Especially on 4K monitors.

The ability to assign any profile to the button frees you from assigning hot keys to profiles.
Maybe you have your head full of to many keyboard short cuts already?Or you don't want to use them for what ever reason.
People screamed bloody murder when they took that feature away. TechSmith didn't care.
All you had to do was select a profile from the big menu and it was assigned to the button

It wasn't the fastest way to change one clicks settings. If TechSmith let you use the new drop down menu to change what the Giant Red Button did. The Giant Red Button would be much more functional.

Now, its degraded into a Giant One Trick Pony.

Do whatever you want snagit to do and then your "repeat last action" hotkey will repeat whatever you want snagit to do over and over again as many times as you want to do it.

This is what I meant, take competitive product FastStone: once in the editor, there is a button to do the next capture. It will start capturing rightaway.

This button can be compared with the "Capture" button in the SnagItEditor, be it that within SnagItEditor it will bring forward the SnagIt  mainscreen and you will need to click on capture there.
It is 1 click extra and 1 click to close the editor window.

It is not really a big thing, however, it could make things a little easier (i.e. less clicks).

Hopefully TechSmith folks are reading this and take into consideration.

So you just have to have a button to find and click instead of a keyboard shortcut hotkey - is that what you’re saying?

The repeat last action hotkey will do less clicks for you and faster than you can find a button to click LOL!
