I have to confess...
This definitely sounds a like a newbie question - I absolutely agree.

That said and with some hesitation ...
eh..
the 'Capture' button in the SnagItEditor - what is it supposed to do.

Yes, I know, it says "Open the Capture window to start a new capture"

However, when I click on that button nothing seems to happen.
I can only assume... that it should work the same way as with FastStone Capture - capturing button in the toolbar will close the editor and start capturing.

Anyway, with me, this button doesn't do anything. Maybe a matter of settings?

Thanks

Hmm.  For me pressing that button opens this window:

... from where you can select some capture settings and start a new capture from within the editor.  However there are other ways of stating a capture which mean that in 15 years of using SnagIt, that;s was the first time I'be ever used that button. Does pressing PrtScn start a capture for you?

I see it...

Thanks.

So far I never used that button, instead I clicked on the big red button in your screenshot.
I wrongly assumed... that the 'capture'-button within the editor would act like the capture button in within FastStone, i.e. it would close the editor and immediately start capturing (based on the last preset that is).
Instead it simply brings up SnagIt and one has still to click on the big red capture button.

That is solved then.

Thanks again!
