Callout boxes mostly have arrow pointing downwards. One can rotate the call out box, but the text is nót rotated

Well, at least . . . I don't know how.

Any suggestions?

You can move the tail of the callout around by clicking on the yellow handle at the end of the tail. Just click and drag it to another side of the callout.

Is this what you were looking to do?

Thanks,

Erika

Thanks. I am aware of that. However, when drag that to the side, pointing to left (in above example) the text will be vertical instead of horizontal, see example above.

When the 'pointing'-direction of a callout box is dragged from point downwards to pointing sidewards, the text inside the box is rotated as well (from horizontal to vertical).

Though vertical may be handy in some exceptional cases I would suggest to be able to adjust this to normal horizontal text.
In fact I think horizontal should be default (vertical as optional setting).

Hi Marcel,
The trick is do *not* rotate the callout. Follow these steps:
1. Draw your callout.
2. Grab the handle (as Erika suggests).
3. Drag it to the side you want the tail to stick out of.
4. Enter text.

Hope that helps,
Jack

Soo simple!

(I entered text first and dragged the handle)

Many thanks indeed.

Does anyone know how to do this for callout arrows?

What you can do is Put a text Box inside of the Arrow Callout and on top. If you flatten the Callout first it's a little easier to manipulate the Text Box. You don't actually need to flatten it though.

See Image Below, Click to Enlarge.

Hmmm, good one. To go further, flatten the arrow in its own separate image, so the callout isnt locked from flattening onto the image Im using it for.
