SnagitHelper2020 consume 106% CPU when idle

The problem

1. I took a snapshot using snagit.
2. then do other stuff, e.g. coding, reading
2. after half hour, my computer fan is quiet noisy, so I checked the CPU load, and found snagit helper takes more than 100% usage.

What is SnagitHelper2020 doing? Why does it consume 100% CPU even though I am not using it?

Snagit on Mac Version

Operating System

I have to regularly kill this process, it's frustrating to use snagit.

Hi,

Thank you for reporting this. We have only seen one other report of this happening, so we're not sure why it's happening to only a few people.

Are you starting your capture with a hotkey, the big red button, or a capture profile?
In Snagit, do you have "share anonymous usage data" enabled or disabled?

1. I usually take snapshot via hotkey.
2. I disabled the option "show anonymous usage data", I can enable it now.

1. question 1

2. were you doing anything with files on your desktop before the CPU started to spike?

No. I didn't move or copy file.

-----------

The strange thing is, after I reported this bug to you, this problem has gone, I can't reproduce it anymore. I did nothing.

Is it relating to Bartender 3 setting?

I'm not sure about Bartender, I have not used it with Snagit. If you do see this again, can you create a process sample of SnagitHelper? That will give us some insight as to why the helper is spinning its wheels.

In this morning, I never used Snagit. but my fan became quite noisy. So I quickly took several samples.
