Snapping To The "End Of A Clip" In Your Timeline

When editing, I "usually" have my "video" as one continuous clip on the first track in my timeline.  But I "always" have other clips, which are not back to back, on separate tracks.   And being able to "snap to the end of a clip on your timeline" would be a HUGE time saver for me!  (...as I'm constantly having to zoom in 100%, just to be able to place my cursor at the END of a clip...)

Hi,

Depending on the version you have, if you go to View on the top menu you can select to have Playhead and Timeline snapping switched on.

Hope this helps,

Jayne

Doesn't that always snap to the beginning of clips?

(UPDATE: Nevermind... once I clicked Enable Timeline Snapping it now has a check mark indicating so... and now scrubbing the Timeline.. everything snaps!  Thank You!  Still would be nice to simply click the crtl+alt+(comma)and ctrl+alt+(period) keys to snap not only to the start of a clip but also to the end of a clip as well.  Cheers!)

Thank you Jayne for replying!

Unfortunately, I have all of them checked (as that is the default  setting), and still it doesn't snap like it should when scrubbing.  I clearly remember in Camtasia 8, I could drag my timeline slider and it would snap to the beginning of any  clip (and if  I'm not mistaken, the END too).  But I just scrubbed in Camtasia 2018 and it does NOT snap to any clip on any track.  (wish I could post a  short video  here to show everything I'm experiencing, lol)

Cheers!

Thanks for the update, glad it worked for you.

When I upgraded from C8 I really missed the snapping. I was pleased when I found out how to switch it on. Glad I could help.

Cheers!

@bnstorm it does... until you click Enable Timeline Snapping and as @Janye said you'll need to have Playahead checked too ;)
