Some kind of default callout keeps appearing

I had to reinstall 2018 because of issues caused by beta

Now, this callout from hell keeps appearing

I didn't create this eyesore and i don't want it but it sets itself as the default call out.  So I delete it from quick styles, and it goes.

And then, a few captures later it reasserts itself as the default,  So I delete it again, and it goes, and then back it comes again, ad nauseum, day after day.  Quite apart from the fact that the design harks back to SnagIt circa 2002, I want it to be gone from my life.

But it loves you. Can't you see that?

But seriously,
Have you tried deleting the SnagIt 2018 file folder from the Registry so it can regenerate itself?

No I haven't done that Joe because then I will have to sort out the library issue gain.  But good point.

I talked to the Snagit team about this issue and they said a fix is in the works.

That's good news Glenn

It's not just the callout by the way.  The default Shape of red border solid white infill keeps asserting itself over my preferred red border, no infill.

In the meantime I have discovered that if you don't delete the unwanted default, but allow it to be pushed out of the way by another Quick Effect, it remains displaced

That's a know bug.
The fix is to install version 2018.1.1
Snagit (Windows): Quick Style Is Not Remembered Between Captures
I opened a ticket and the fix above was already a support solution.

So it's a bug that appeared in Version 2018.2.1 (64 Bit) (Build 1590) - 23/06/2018?

I have the same issues happening.

The purple tailed callout still occasionally makes a appearance and the red border w-white filled shape is there anytime I make a new capture.

I'm on ver. 2018.2.1 so it still needs a fix'in.

Yeah,

Red border with White inside is a default.
Black Text with a White outline
White callout with Blue outline.
You can in the image below the image I sent them.

Here's what I did, I open SnagIt 2018 and selected a tool.I did this 3 separate times.
I selected the Quickstyle positioned at the top left hand corner of the available styles in the menu.I put a   magenta rectangle around them in the image below.I used the tool.
Then I closed SnagIt and made a capture.

In all three instances, SnagIt remembered the tool I had selected.
However, the Blank/Default style was always selected and highlighted. "Green Rectangle"
That never used to happen.

I uninstalled SnagIt Version 2018.2.0 build 1511 and installed version 2018.1.1 Build 924.That fixed it.

Reported it as a bug.
They responded and basically said to do what I did and wait for a update to SnagIt.

Hello,

I think this is the same bug that we have described here:  Snagit (Windows): Quick Style Is Not Remembered Between Captures

We are working on a fix, and hope to have it in the next update for Snagit.  Thank you!

Please let me know if you have any questions.
