I keep getting the same error message everytime I go to record a video using Snagit 11.0.1.

"Sorry! Snagit had to stop recording due to the loss of audio input."

It is very annoying and I am looking for a new program to record my screen capture videos.

Having the same problem. Snagit version 11.0.1. Downloaded from website on 8\16\2012. After recording for about a minute it stops with the above referenced error. The laptop (Dell latitude E6320) is running Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

Hi george. Can you email me too. We are unable to reproduce this issue with our hardware here, but I have a few things I can send you to try to troubleshoot the issue and get us more information about what's going wrong.

Thanks,
Chris

I applied this patch on my Win 7 64-bit Dell Latitude 6240 using a Logitech USB headset and it fixed the problem.
Yea, Chris!
Thanks,
Brian

I receive the following error while attempting to install the patch on a Windows 7 Pro Dell. I do have Snagit installed.

The system cannot find the path specified.

Hmm... Instead of using the script to install, can you try this:

Make sure Snagit is completed closed (you shouldn't see the tray icon or anything). Look in the Files\ToReplace directory from the patch, and copy the TSCRec3.dll file over the one that exists in your Snagit install directory (Usually "C:\Program Files (x86)\Techsmith\Snagit 11" or similar)

Let me know if that works out for you.

I tried and failed to run the patch. The error I got was the same as above. I tried your remedy and got this error..

Extracting to "C:\Program Files\TechSmith\Snagit 11\"
Use Path: yes Overlay Files: no
Error: Access is denied.
Cannot create C:\Program Files\TechSmith\Snagit 11\TSCRec3.dll.
Administrative privileges may be required.
The archive file cannot be opened for output.

Suggestions? bc

Are you sure you've unzipped the file? It sounds like you may be interacting directly with the zip file. Do you have administrator privileges for your system? The file that needs to be patched is in Program Files, which typically requires administrative privileges to change.

This fix is now available as part of Snagit 11.1 which was released today. The new update also includes support for recording system audio along with your microphone audio.

Chris, I'm coming into this thread a little late, but I'm experiencing the same problem. I'm using Snagit 11.0.0 on a Dell Latitude laptop using Windows 7 Professional, 32 bit. How can I obtain the patch to fix this issue?

Thanks!

Hey Wade,

Snagit is currently on 11.2, so I'd highly recommend you upload as well. Go to Help, than check for Upgrade. That should take care of your issue!
