Sound only from one speaker (mono to stereo?)

I'm not sure if this is a question or a support issue, but I record my videos with a lavalier microphone.  When I edit my video and export it, the sound is only coming from one speaker.  This has resulted in several complaints of my youtube followers that they are only getting sound in one ear.

As most of you know, sound quality is more important than image quality, so I need to find a fix asap.  Is there an option somewhere to export your video's so that the sound is on both speakers?

I did find a thread that advised to export to AVI, then you get the option to export to stereo, but when I tried it, the filesize was 5 X bigger, and the image was just black.

I also found some links to 3rd party software to duplicate the soundtrack, but that would add to my workflow.  Is there no way to do this in camtasia?

For instance, would my problem be solved if I buy a shotgun mic?

Hi there

In Camtasia 9, you have an option in the properties to "Mix to Mono" that you might want to consider enabling.

Likewise, in version 8 there is the same option but in a different place:

Awesome!  I'll have to try it this evening, but that seems exactly what I was looking for.  Many thanks!
