The latest version of Camtasia for Mac is nice - but I've been noticing that when I have longer recordings - for example, I've been working today on one that is 27 minutes long 'that I have been cutting down to about a 17 minute final version.

Cutting it down - by splitting and doing ripple deletes - has been very difficult, since I sometimes cannot get it to pause; getting a spinning rainbow wheel of death for long periods before it finally responds and pauses. I also, after finally having edited it, tried to export it to my local server. Although it exported (seemingly) without incident, the exported movie's audio was all screwed up - where at about one minute into the playback the audio disappeared, giving only an occasional click or pop. Advancing the playhead did not help - the audio was just gone.

Reloading the page didn't help either.
I finally decided to do another export - this time sending it to your own screencasts server.
That one played back fine.

By the way - I like the new Screencast.com interface.

Timothy,
I am sorry to hear about this poor performance. Thank you for the details.

I was hoping you would be willing to open a case with our Tech Support team. During the submission process there is an option to attach a file, and I am thinking it might be beneficial to attach your Camtasia project. This way one of our Technical Support Specialists can uncover any root causes behind the problem.

You can create an account and open case here: http://techsmith.custhelp.com/app/uti...

They will respond within one business day.

Sincerely,
Mike Curtis

I would also be interested in the resolution of this topic as I am having the same problems with my MacBook Pro using Camtasia 2. It takes a very long time to edit a 30 minute screencast, with the spinning wheel (and sometimes NO response) whenever I try to ripple delete a section.
